Police seek those responsible for painting a dog pink

In the Russian city of Izhevsk, police found a stray dog dyed pink. This practice (for which those responsible are still looking for) caused serious damage to the animal’s health. The fact was denounced by the neighbors. Who could be able to paint a dog?

A more than cruel joke: painting a dog

Authorities in that city in Russia continue to look for those responsible for painting a stray dog pink. The images of the poor dyed animal went viral on social media. This provoked indignation, anger and repulsion from users. The vast majority said it was one of the cruelest pranks they had seen on the Internet.

Local wildlife supporter and activist Vera Ivanova found the  animal. Soon, he took him to a shelter, where he received the attention and care necessary to remove the dye, as indicated by various international means.

The woman declared that, fortunately, the little dog had been saved “by a miracle”. He added that, even though he is now in good health, he had vomited a lot, presumably, having ingested part of the ink used to dye him.

The local police are still looking for those responsible for painting this little animal. They could be accused of animal cruelty.

Similar case of a dog painted in Colombia

In the Colombian city of Medellin, people were outraged when they saw a photograph of a dog painted in the colors of the national flag: blue, yellow and red. This fact happened while the soccer team was participating in the Copa America Centenario.

The animal, of a mestizo or Creole breed, had its head, trunk and forelegs painted yellow. Also, the belly and shoulder in blue, and the tail and hind legs in red. In the images he is seen very sad.

A Colombian veterinarian named Catalina Yepes Mejía, who is part of the Raya Corporation (for the preservation and respect of animals) indicated that although there are dyes specially designed for animals without having toxic effects, she does not believe they were used in this case. They are very difficult to obtain in the local market. “In addition to the physical and health damage suffered by the dog, we are facing a clear attempt on life”, indicated the doctor.

The dangers of painting a dog

Although these feats may cause us indignation and impotence, some people have found the “business” behind the dye for dogs or cats. This “fashion” can be seen in cities like Tokyo, New York, London and Paris. If they are not dyes developed especially for pets, these products are harmful to your health.

Even in China, many owners of cat dogs dye them to disguise or make them more attractive. One of the most popular cases is that of a family who painted their pet as if it were a panda bear (black and white). Also, there are merchants who dye them to make them pass themselves off as members of another race and sell them more expensively.

In many cases, dyes can cause poisoning in animals. We must remember that the skin is one of Organs most sensitive organs in your body, because of its great absorption power. The painting or dyeing goes beyond the dermis and reaches the interior of the organism. The process is even faster if the dog or cat licks the product.

There are many cases of dogs that died from poisoning caused by the chemical substances in the paint. The problem is accentuated if the animal is not bathed to remove it from the product.

On the other hand, by applying this type of product to him, the dog’s natural odor is camouflaged. This can be uncomfortable for him, since, through his sense of smell, he demonstrates who he is and who he can relate to. Something similar happens when you spray him with perfume or shower him with shampoo for people.
