Activities To Exercise And Educate Your Pet

Activities to exercise and educate your pet

Exercising and educating your pet can be a very simple task if you know how to do it and unintentionally speed up the training process.

Home spoilers can often be a bit clumsy, as at first they don’t know how to control their natural urges.

Don’t forget that when we decide to include these beautiful beings in our lives,  the commitment is for the long term.

So, this time we will teach  a series of games that will allow you to exercise and educate your pet,  to make it a good companion, lively, athletic and healthy.

Play, the best option to exercise and educate your pet

Dogs and cats get carried away by their instincts, causing unintentionally irritating or unpleasant situations  .

Unfortunately, this fact often results in the  abandonment of the animal, due to lack of information on the part of the owner and even lack of interest in the education of the pet.

When a pet is adopted, in most cases,  people tend to lean towards puppies, not only for their undeniable tenderness, but for the opportunity to raise the new friend from scratch.

Even if they  have developed some behaviors because of past traumas, it’s much easier to avoid them at this age.

Hyperactivity is one of the main characteristics of these little friends, as they are full of vitality and want to see the world.

Without a doubt, games are the best way for pets to learn, whether they are dogs or cats. This stimulates mental development and strengthens the physical.

For this reason, games are the best option for exercising, ‘tiring’ and educating them.

Through special activities, it is possible to develop the physical and mental strength of the puppies.

By this, we do not mean that games do not work to  exercise and educate your adult pet.

Performing this type of routine strengthens your bond with them. It helps them to overcome past traumas in a better way,  makes it easier to learn orders, reduces stress and keeps them active.

Activities to exercise and educate dogs

There are two types of activities you can do with your dog: those that  stimulate his mental development  and those that strengthen his physical strength and natural abilities (tracking, hunting, capturing prey).

The ideal is to combine both to get a dog as educated as possible.

First order commands  are the best way to start. It’s usually easy to get them to sit with the word “sit”; but answering only your call is more complicated.

Going up and down stairs is a good muscular exercise and also helps in retaining orders related to moving forward or stopping.

Throwing the ball, or a  Frisbee, a toy tied to a rope or even the dog, exercises your friend’s reflexes, allowing him to reinforce his focus, a necessary quality for learning.

Five minutes of music or nature sounds provide positive feelings for the dog. You can use music as a resource to soothe your furry friend if he’s overly anxious or suffers when he’s alone at home.

A home hurdle race  is another good example. It’s not too complicated, just hide a prize and put in some simple obstacles like towels or rolled up pillows.

With this, you will  favor your dog’s sense of search and imagination, overcoming small difficulties.

Activities to exercise and educate cats

Cats tend to be more rebellious and impulsive due to their natural independence. Educating them is usually a little more difficult.

The owner must  convince them that the task they must learn is a worthwhile skill. Thus, games are essential to exercise and educate your pet.

If you want your cat to stop biting you, play  dead. If he is too aggressive when playing and uses his teeth or claws, respond by stopping playing, staying quiet or sitting calmly and ignoring him. Your cat will want to play and will quickly learn that he doesn’t want this result.

Give him  toys that he can hit or catch, such  as a rubber mouse, a ball, or feathers tied to a string.

With these games, he will be able to sharpen their hunting instincts, as well as drain the accumulated energy, which will allow them to control their levels of excitement and aggression.

Cats love to climb, especially since they love to see everything from above. So  give your friend fun places he can climb.

This will help you not only stay active, but also stay away from the kitchen cupboard, dining room and dangerous shelves.

Finally, if you want your cat to learn some tricks,  use a  clicker.  If you don’t have one, a retractable pen can do the same thing.

By giving him a treat each time you click the  clicker , he will associate the sound with the prize. Over time, your cat will do whatever trick you want each time the clicker sounds.

Tips  for playing

  • Do not saturate the animal. Exercising and overeducating your pet can be counterproductive  and frustrating for both of you. They will likely get bored, lose interest, and won’t want to continue the routine if you push too hard.
  • Be constant. To get good results, you must unite patience with perseverance. If you don’t routinely conduct play sessions, your pet won’t be able to internalize what you teach him.
  • Use positive reinforcement. A kindly educated pet will learn  much faster.
